Daily Painting 1388 Tree Fern at Hackberry Hammock plein air alla prima

I painted this today at Hackberry Hammock, it was at a paintout sponsored by Art Mundo. It was really nice out, so much to see its very hard to settle down and paint somewhere. It was fun seeing everybody again to paint with. The painting is mostly done with a palette knife, has lots of textures. Its 8 x 10 inches, oil on masonite.

Daily Painting 1385 SOLD Big Seascape Painting With Fisherman and Great Blue Heron

SOLD This is what I have been working on lately for days! It was a commissioned painting, 40 x 60 inches, oil on gallery wrapped canvas. The fisherman is 5 inches tall to give an idea of scale. I enjoyed painting it, it was nice to do something so big for a change, nice to get it finished too! Below are the great blue heron and fisherman.

The client saw one of my smaller paintings, Daily Painting # 1367, "A Calming View" and wanted to know if I could make a big one for her with the birds and her husband fishing. So here it is.

Daily Painting 1383 "Colors of the Day" Chunky, Thick, Palette Knife oil Painting

I was in the mood for something different, started this with golden brown paint sort of sepia. I was painting at Treasure Coast Art Association with some of my friends and the one walked by and said it looked like sh--! Well at that point it did, it was all brown. I was thinking, "this does look really bad, I hope I can pull it off."
I added a whole bunch of other colors and here it is. I didn't use a brush at all, its all painted with the painting knife. Lots of fun to paint. Click on it to see it better, its got lots of thick texture. Its oil on masonite, 8 x 10 inches, to purchase just click on the yellow Paypal button.
